Program overview

MAHSA’s MBBS program is a five-year degree designed in two phases. Phase 1 encompasses the first two years and is primarily conducted at the MAHSA University campus, with some exposure to clinical medicine at Hospital Tanjung Karang.

Phase 2, the clinical phase, spans the last three years and is predominantly hospital and clinic-based. Students will train at Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, and Hospital Tanjung Karang, as well as at Klinik Kesihatan AU2, Rawang Perdana, Taman Ehsan, and Taman Medan. This diverse training experience offers students a well-rounded exposure to major referral centers, community hospitals, and primary care clinics.

Upon completing this five-year program, students will earn a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.

Entry Requirements

STPM

  • STPM/A-Levels: Grades BBB, ABC or AAC in 3 subjects (Biology & Chemistry & Physics/Mathematics)

Future Careers

  • Upon completion of the MBBS programme, graduates will have to undergo a compulsory internship training programme for full registration as medical practitioners.
  • Subsequent to full registration, the available career opportunities include further training and specialisation followed by practice in the service, academic or private sectors.
  • Increasingly there are career opportunities in managerial positions of healthcare institutions.
  • Graduates may also elect a career in research medicine.

Entry requirements

Bachelor's: strong high-school results, a foundation, or a diploma.

Typically IELTS 6 or equivalent (TOEFL / PTE). Some universities offer a preparatory English program if you haven't reached the score yet.
